The MSL electronic catalogue is one of the largest electronic catalogues in Serbia regarding the number of described publications.
At the end of 2023, it contained 1,666,255 bibliographic records (1,093,446 records for books, 46,871 records for serials, 416,573 records for components of monographs and serials, and 109,365 records for non-book materials) and 1,678,979 local records.
The MSL electronic catalogue contains records of the current accession since 1989, as well as the records of the major part of the recatalogued Library collections before 1989.
Searching the Union Catalogue COBIB.SR
COBISS+ provides online access to the electronic catalogues of the Matica Srpska Library and other libraries in the system of union cataloguing in Serbia—COBIB.SR.
There are three ways of searching the electronic catalogue:
- Basic search – enter words or a phrase, click SEARCH, and then get the search results.
- Advanced search – select search fields that can be combined with logical operators.
- Expert search – use the advanced search syntax to form a search request. In this case, you need to know the structure of bibliographic records.

The National Union Catalogue (COBIB.SR) contains bibliographic descriptions of library materials and sources from the Matica Srpska Library and 260 other Serbian libraries—there are about four million records.
