Senior professional titles

Professional titles in the field of library and information science are determined by the Law on Library and Information Service (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 52/11) and the Regulation on Detailed Requirements for the Acquisition of Senior Professional Titles in the Library and Information Service (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 22/13).

The Matica Srpska Library Commission for determining proposals for the awarding of senior professional titles in the library and information services is appointed by the director of the Matica Srpska Library and is responsible for librarians who work in academic and scientific libraries in the Province of Vojvodina. The Commission performs its duties in accordance with the Internal Working Procedures.

Librarians applying for a senior professional title should submit the following documents:

• Recommendation of the head of the department in the institution where the expertise, work and
• Application for obtaining a senior professional title in the library and information service https://nb.rs/strucna-zvanja/;
• Copy of diploma of completed education;
• A copy of the certificate of passing the professional library exam;
• A copy of the certificate of the previously acquired professional title;
• Biography (CV);
• Score list https://nb.rs/strucna-zvanja/;
• Papers or copies of papers listed in the bibliography;
• Certificate of the length of service in the library;
• Confirmation of knowledge of information and communication technology (ECDL, other certificates confirming the knowledge of computer work, license to work with electronic information sources and databases, and so on, or the confirmation of the institution where the librarian is employed on knowledge of information and communication technology);performance quality of the librarian were analyzed and evaluated;

If the Commission determines that the librarian meets the requirements for obtaining a senior professional title, it forwards the proposal to the Republic Commission.
